What are you passionate about?
Eyo Effiong was born in Nigeria, and grew up in Lagos State in a community plagued with hopelessness due to pervasive resource mismanagement, lack of good social structures, and leadership. His experiences in Nigeria led to a desire for change in the African Community, and he founded a charity organization, African Basketball (ABO) with a focus on African Youth Leadership and Basketball Development.

ABO uses basketball camps and coaches’ clinics as a tool to educate participants on the value of leadership, education, life skills, and a healthy lifestyle.

Eyo is a graduate of Winthrop University in South Carolina, where he was an Academic All-American, Big South All-Academic, four times Big South Conference champion, and a former Nigerian National Basketball Team standout. Effiong holds an MBA in Accounting from Winthrop University, and currently works as a Senior Accountant at Rothstein Kass.

With the help of sponsors, donors, and many international partners, Eyo continues to use his compassion for the African communities and professional background to promote, and develop programs and provide resources designed to empower African kids, both boys and girls, to find and implement their life goals.

If I were a cow out in the field, I’d tell you with outright glee
Of a gal who is a pretty good heifer, Lisa, Moo-Moo Marie

I like it when she starts to talk, for it is such a beautiful sound
Her words are sweeter than alfalfa grass, that shoots up from the ground

If I were placed inside a stall, I’d still be just as free
For I’m never afraid to be caged, with, Lisa, Moo-Moo Marie

She’s busier than a herd of bulls, trekking on a long cattle drive
Yet she always has plenty of time, for my irritating rawhide

As we grow older, faces being thinner, our eyes barely able to see
I’d have such a thrill, just being still, with, Lisa Moo-Moo Marie

Strolling with her on a dirt trail, side-by-side, and neck-to-neck
I’d gladly breath a ton of dust, just to join her in the trek

And when we get processed at the butcher shop, in Heaven I’d like to be
With the best little cowgirl I ever met, Lisa, Moo-Moo Marie
